Creating a bed time routine


Having a bed time routine is the perfect way to train your body and mind that it is time for bed. Anything from a beauty routine to a warm cup of tea(decaf), each night. Ensuring you go to bed and wake up around the same time is vital for good quality sleep.




Lights out!


Making sure your room is dark is very important for quality sleep. This includes powering down the electronics an hour before bedtime. Blue light from your phone and T.V blocks your bodies ability to make melatonin, the sleeping hormone, making it harder to fall asleep. Ensure electronics are out of reach, any and all light is off or blocked out -Try blackout curtains if you are a city folk dealing with light pollution.


Adequately dark bedrooms have tremendous benefits! Increasing melatonin levels, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep, as well as keeping your body in the o-so-important REM sleep.

You know that feeling, right when your alarm clock goes off- where your bed is to cozy to leave? Well that's what it should always feel like! Making sure your comfortable in your own bed is critical for unwinding from the day.


If you have trouble getting comfortable when going to bed then try experimenting with different linens, pillows, and blankets. Some people sleep hot, other cold, so learn what is right for you to set yourself up for the best night sleep, every night.
